Stewie's Guide To World
Domination Review
Since Fox
announced Family Guy was returning back in January of '04, tons of
merchandise has been released. Action figures, trading cards, stupid
re-releases of the box sets with bonus discs featuring
behind-the-scenes junk and more. However, some cool things have been
released and the book Stewie's Guide To World Domination is one of
those things.
The book is written by Steve Callaghan (writer of such FG episodes
like To Love And Die In Dixie and Fifteen Minutes Of Shame). He has
written the book under the alias "Stewie Griffin." While it is
mainly a guide to world domination as the title says, quite a bit of
it is mainly Stewie's own random thoughts. He talks about things you
wouldn't expect a one-year-old to know about (such as taxes, teen
fashion, work and many other things).
In the first chapter, Stewie tells us about the rest of the Griffin
clan. He talks about how much he hates Lois right down to how he
believes Peter cannot possibly be his father. While most of this
chapter is why he hates his family, there is a great page or times
when his family can be of some use. The highlight of this chapter
features Stewie explaining how vomited while seeing Brian try to
pick up a salesgirl at Barnes & Noble. It\'s a great beginning to
the book.
The second chapter is all about love and the sexes. Stewie tells all
us men how to handle first date. The chapter also features some more
great pieces about romantic ways to propose and more. The third
chapter contains one of my favorite things in the book: Stewie's
reason that MTV is the root of all evil. Also in the chapter, he
discusses many young people today\'s problems such as childhood
obesity and teen fashion.
In the fourth chapter, Stewie then shows his schedule to people
ready to become a parent. This chapters contains some of the best
moments of the book like his signs that your child is trying to kill
you. In the following chapters, he talks about teething, his
thoughts on school, the "three Rs," work local news and taxes. The
book also contains a great chapter on some of Stewie's latest
inventions. However, in the chapter collecting some of Stewie's
journal entries and essays, the best part of the book can be found:
Stewie trying to figure out if there really is a monkey in Chris's
closet. This is the part that had me laughing the hardest.
Overall, I was very satisfied with the book when I was done reading
it. This wasn't just a piece of crap thrown together to promote the
new episodes. This is a very funny book that I recommend all Family
Guy fans buy. I give this book 5 stars or thumbs-up or whatever. Go
out and buy it today!
